Last weekend was the wonderful Battle of Burlesque at the Ministry of Burlesque's show in Brighton.

I performed my Stig routine alongside the wonderful Raspberry Ripples. A newcomer to the scene who is absolutely fabulous.

Backstage was busy with Immodesty Blaize popping into say hello, Mr B the gentleman ryhmer  and a host of other performers (not to mention the wonderful Kittie Klaw) all being wonderful

Back from NYC! What a wonderful way to kick off 2010.

We were only there for a few days but still managed to cram in an awful lot of stuff including the Tim Burton Exhibition (wonderfully bizarre but felt like a game of cram in the ticket holder), the Empire state and Bloomingdale's.

Going to MOMA was an adventure in itself. The queue seemed to grow with every blink of the eyelids, then making your way to the basement for some of the first collection of Burtons imagination. Some wonderfully subversive pictures along with a collection of posters and the first couple of movie memorabilia. Then up through the mouth of the monster and into a slice of Burtons artistic life. My only disappointment was the images I fell in love with had no
 copies in the store.

The Empire state's Art Deco interior truly is inspiring and while the views were limited to say the least (well it was at the start of January) it truly made you appreciate the achievement and commitment to the idea of 'modern' created in the last depression.

As well as picking up a few things in Bloomingdale's and other shops we carried on in the tourist vein. The UN building, Central Station and the Rockafeller ice rink were all included. I amazed at the Apple stores fabulous store front and the beautiful Christmas decorations.

We joined in the hunt for the perfect slice (and failed miserably) and drank champagne in the shadow of the beautiful Chrysler Building. Then it was across the Brooklyn bridge and on to the Ocean liner Queen Mary 2. Luxury and good food however have proved my undoing.

I am now ruined for flying. No more being crammed into a metal tube fuelled by mass paranoia....although being felt up before boarding seems to be a bonus to some.

We stood on Deck as we sailed away from New York passing Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Then it was the Atlantic for the next week. Whale spotting, Outside Hot tubs and Afternoon tea mixed with fantastic food, dancing at balls and nightclubs and sipping Martinis
while gossiping the night away.

Sailing back into my home port of Southampton to discover I seemed to have ended up in Narnia was a new sensation as well. I am now surrounded by snow which is a wonderful change for me. Snow Angels and snowball fights all round and a perfect excuse for hot chocolate.

Now back to planning and plotting as normal. I'm off to perform in Brighton this Saturday then will swing in to the Madame's Modiste event in Southampton on the Sunday as an observer which will make a wonderful change. Then performing at or attending private events and photoshoots
for the rest of the month.

The other thing keeping me busy is the construction part of a new routine involving plenty of meetings with my costumer and the start of a new prop, hopefully all ready for Summer.

Not to mention the main reason for my cutting back on performances this year which involves buying a house and getting married.

I hope you all had wonderful Christmas' and a fabulous New Year, and

that you have a stunning 2010
