I love this! 05/25/2010

I first read about it on London Liberty Girls blog (www.libertylondongirl.blogspot.com ) and decided to get some for my trip to New York earlier in the year where it came in useful to sooth any blizzard chapped skin. I thought it was good but on my return promptly popped it back into my drawer of occasional use products.

This weekend I ended up being out in the sun longer then expected and managed to turn a shade suited to a radioactive lobster. In an effort to rescue my poor skin I searched through the drawer and rediscovered it. It was wonderfully soothing and thick enough so that it sat on the skin for a couple of minutes which allowed me to spot any areas I missed. Much better then the small amount of aftersun I tried in one area to compare it too.

Ok, you've probably already seen these in various magazines by now, but I adore these False Eyelashes.

A combination of Manga, 60's doll and pure fabulousness. By PPQ at www.Selfridges.com

Kat Von D, I've been watching reruns of LA Ink while working on my hat collection and am completely girl crushing on her right now, not to mention the entire look of the shop.

Reluctant Bride by Lucy Mangan. This is by one of my favourite columists and am planning on having this nearby for any wedding induced migranes. She has a wonderfully warm, wry & witty tone when she writes and how can you not love anyone who views reading in much the same way people view breathing.

I haven't actually got my copy yet, but trust me, it's gone straight to the top of my reading list.

Time for Tease 05/17/2010

Hope you all had a lovely weekend, I had a fabulous one.

I Spent a lot of time catching up on e-mails and some other bits and pieces (including unpacking some more goodies for the current give-away competition). And then playing 1950s housewife having my hair done, hanging curtains and baking away for a burlesque workshop making this lovely strawberry cake http://www.jasonandshawnda.com/foodiebride/?p=1088

I received a lovely stash of Pasties from the fabulous Dolly De Lash (http://www.dollydelash.co.uk/) before hosting a Beatrix Von Bourbon workshop (http://vonbourbon.com/) for some local Burlesque Betties (pictures of the finished bra should be up next weekend).

I've also been working on my ideas for a new routine which as always has been wonderfully fun.

Hotel Chocolat Salted Caramels (
www.hotelchocolat.co.uk). I was devestated when these disappeared from the shelves of my local Hotel Chocolat shop. Luckily they've returned, repackaged and resplendent with their golden buttons and melt in the mouth texture. Annoyingly I can't see them on the website, but trust me - they are back in stores.

Just everything from Illamasqua (
www.illamasqua.com). My darling mother treated me at Christmas to some of their false eyelashes and I'm now looking forward to my current make-up stash running low enough to justify a visit to one of their concessions.

I picked up these earrings from topshop last time I was in there. They reminded me of some of Lulu Guiness' work but with a Topshop price tag and so I had to have them. Everytime I've worn them so far they've received comments & compliments. Compliments from woman and sheer confused comments from men.."Is that….a chair in your ear?..."

And at top shop prices I won't mind as much if they follow the traditional pattern for my Lulu Guinness pieces. That of mysteriously disappearing one night never to return.

Oh honey, I'm home!

Yes, after far too long involving wrangles with BT and SKY (I like to think that they each sent a champion to fight gladiator style to decide the victor of the the phoneline) I now am back in the wonderful virtual world.

A quick catch up for those who have been wondering just what I've been up to. The last couple of months, I've moved house, Performed at some private and public events and had some wonderful photoshoots. I've also been finishing some millinery pieces for my end of year show as well as working on some new costume pieces. Am looking forward to this next month when I will be hosting a Beatrix Von Bourbon workshop, performing at a couple of weddings, hen parties and shows, attending the Hay-on-Wye festival and some Summer Balls and becoming an auntie!

I've also had my wrist slapped over the neglection of this, my blog (my heartfelt apologies ThatBlondeGirl) and as such I have decided to run a small giveaway. I will start blogging on a much more regualar basis and will give away a goodie bag for the comment in the next four weeks that makes me smile the most. (Rules and prize will be posted next week).
