A week behind due to a fabulous weekend away in Kent last weekend, but better late then never (as the football coach said to the national team).

This week, along with nearly everyone else on the planet, I'm swooning over the i-phone4. Having to wait a couple of weeks to get one but really looking forward to it. I do adore Apple products even if I do wish they could grow up a bit when it comes to Flash...

I'm starting hunting for my wedding cake and have fallen in love with the fabulous cakes at Maison Blanc (
www.maisonblanc.co.uk/) - how gorgeous are they? And in my hunt for cakes I decided to pass on the address of my favouite blogs, www.foodbeam.combeautiful.

And what week wouldn't be complete without some music to listen to as I try to recreate some of those fabulous cakes in the Kitchen. Luckily one of my favourite bands, the very talented 'Apocalyptica' is gearing to launch their new album "7th Symphony" and have started releasing the odd track online. Listen here to the single featuring Gavin Rossdale. www.myspace.com/apocalyptica

SATC2

A bit of a late comment seeing how everyone and their mother has now seen this, but I finally got the chance last weekend while celebrating lil sis' birthday.

*Spoiler alert*

The first movie felt like an entire series condensed and edited down to movie length with some token efforts to keep an executive happy. They managed to fit in some humour and touches from the TV show while ignoring the glaring plot holes and making room for an X-factor winner and some far too obvious product placement. Nothing that would have won an oscar but nothing truly offensive to fans of the TV show.

The second movie had the feeling that someone gave the executive total power....

The actors, costumes and scenery all played their part against some truly dreadful ideas (Karoke style woman power? Really? Glee gets away with singing. SATC doesn't- and the scene with woman of all nationalities joining in and standing proud still make me cringe.)The Actors know their charcters well enough to slip back into them, It would be harder to play the desinger name drop shot game this time round. (Not counting the scene with the obvios Dior outfit) and the travelling to another city wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting once you get past the stereotyping. (Although would have been nice to have seen a better mix of muslim woman style..they weren't supposed to have been in Saudi after all).

I admit I may have started from a disadvantage after catching some of the better episodes on late night tv but the cynical humour and witty one liners seemed to be replaced by trite observations and predictable scenes. The charcters have become confined by the script to one word personalities defined by their dress sense. I didn't hate the movie (the goodwill generated from the series is still pretty strong), but I really hope they let this rest now.

The studio should be commended to their commitment to the flogging dead equine industry.

2 Pasties: Still beats hot tub time machine.

Stay don't stray.

Finally got a chance to try some of this benefit eye primer. Since Benefit is discontinuing the FY...eye I thought I'd better try the replacement before stocking up.

Completely different texture to the FY...eye and not so easily controllable. Being a liquid in a pump you don't have much say over the amounts (and it does seem to like to pump out twice as much as you need….hmmm nothing like making sure you speed through a product to increase sales benebabes is there?). Although being in a pump does keep it cleaner from all the bugs & bacteria. In order to get the pump working I did have to spend a while playing with the cap.

The texture is nice (and easier to work with) but I didn't find it as mattifying as FY…eye so I wouldn't trust it to keep my eyeshadow unmovable. I have the feeling it may have been designed for normal to dry skin, but if you have oily skin then it isn't as good. My eyeshadow begain to show signs of creasing around lunchtime.

It was however fabulous for my undereye concealer.

2/5 Pasties: I'll be heading back to a Benefit counter to stock up on FY…eye ASAP. Great in one area but packaging and main promise was a disappoinment. Don't think I'll be getting this again.

For those of you who have been e-mailing with messages of encouragement and questions about my millinery course, I'm pleased as march hare to let you know I'm apporaching the end of my year's course. My final pieces are now at an exhibit at Fareham college and I'm already working on some pieces for a 2011 launch of my company.

Had a fabulous time at the civil ceremony at the weekend (How can you not adore a couple who walk down the aisle to a carry-on tune?). Met some fabulous people (as well as some downright confusing ones) and got to see Raspberry Ripples fabulous 'bigger the figure' routine again.

While this last week has been quite miserable weatherwise, I'm hoping the lovely summer weather will be back soon.

This fabulous Indian Summer parasol - how absolutely perfect for warm sunny weather. Am imaging lazing underneath this on a hot day with chilled champagne, fresh mangos and good friends

Or maybe sat underneath with an ice lolly.
I'm rediscovering the pleasure of Mini Milks. So lovely and cooling and somehow currently compensation for lack of chocolate bars… Although I 'm not expecting that to last….

Last week at Hay, I wore a Vivien of Holloway dress and as always, recieved plenty of compliments. I did promise to pop up a link, so here it is:
